Where to Eat & Drink in the King valley

There is so much to do in King Valley and your time will rush past quickly. Take some time and pre-plan your stay. Book for lunch or dinner (book early on long weekends and festival weekends), book wine tastings or try our new ebikes at Cycle King Valley.

 

FOOD

We have some awesome places to eat in the King Valley, from fine dining to the best hamburgers in a hundred miles. Make sure you book early if you are coming for a short stay.

  • Chrismont cellar door, restaurant & larder have lunches Friday to Tuesday Food is excellent and the view is stunning. You can call them on (03) 5729 8220 to make a booking.

  • Mountain View Hotel has great pub meals for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. You can call them on (03) 5729 8270 to make a booking.

  • Dal Zotto Wines cellar door and Trattoria style restaurant have lunches Thursday to Sunday. You can call them on (03) 5729 8321 to make a booking.

  • Gracebrook Wines cellar door and restaurant have lunches Thursday to Sunday. Friendly family style dinning. You can call them on (03) 5729 3562 to make a booking.

  • King River Brewing tap room and pizzeria have dinner on Thursday/Friday/Saturday and lunches on Saturday/Sunday. Thursday Night is Taco Night! You can call them on (03) 5729 3604 to make a booking.

  • Sam Miranda Winery is open for lunch 7 days a week. You can call them on (03) 5727 3888 to make a booking

  • King River Café is open for lunch Wednesday to Monday. You can call them on (03) 5727 3461 to make a booking.

  • Moyhu Hotel have pub meals all week except Mondays. Good pub fare, Wednesday night is Parma night. You can call them on (03) 5727 9333 to make a booking.

  • Brown Brothers fine dining restaurant and bistro is great for special occasions. Open 7 days a week. Excellent food with good wines. Great service. You can call them on (03) 5720 5500 to make a booking.

  • Hobbledehoy Café in Whitfield (250m down the road) does breakfast and lunch 5 days a week and has a great little COCKTAIL NIGHT every Saturday. Try their home made almond croissant and yummy cakes. Pia, Eric and Chris are awesome people. Our coffee spot.

  • Cheshunt General Store for a great burger, best this the valley by far. Besides being a great take away place, they also have general supplies, meat & veg and they are a Post Office. Fresh delicious Milawa Bread on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Open 7 days a week. Tell Cath I sent you!

  • The Oven Bakery & Café for organic whole flour bread & pastries and coffee. They have a Pizza Buffet on Friday nights. Closed Mondays and Thursdays. Also passes as the local bottle shop for take away wine and beer.

  • Milawa Bread & Kitchen has the best bread and pastries in the valley. Yummy delights like the CRUFFIN, a lemon curd filled croissant square thingy (drooling while typing this!) They have delicious panini, croissants and pies. Open 7 days a week till 4pm.

  • Ineeta Café in Moyhu serves great coffee, cakes and breakfast/lunch 7 days a week.

 

WINE

The nearest wineries to 3BlackSHEDS will be Pizzini & Dal Zotto which you can walk to, then Chrismont, Politini, & Darling Estate - all within a few minutes drive or ride. A bit further out you have Francesco, Gracebrook, Red Feet & King River Estate - all within 20 minutes. Further afield you have Sam Miranda and Brown Brothers and many many others. BEER

  • King River Brewing down the road (10 min) has wonderful boutique beers to suit all tastes, a great beer garden and games.

  • Further afield you have the Bright Brewery in Bright (1 hour 20 min) and the Bridge Road Brewers in Beechworth ( 1 hour)

  • There is the famous High Country Brewery Trail that takes into account 6 awesome breweries in including those above. To follow the trail, use this LINK.
